Cait Glenn, LCSW

I am so glad that you are looking into support and that you found my page. My approach is integrative and person-centered and I pride myself in making sure that therapy is helpful in what you want to focus on and not just cookie cutter.

I am not the smile and nod type of therapist. I want to dig deep and am not afraid to talk about the hard stuff. What inspires me is to help you achieve your goals and truly feel better.

My unique perspective in what I specialize in comes from trainings, exploring and being creative. I utilize CBT, Mindfulness, Strengths Based, ACT and blend that all together with non judgment, warmth and care.
I want to help my clients live the life that is meant for them, to align fully to their authentic self and to find meaningful connection to what they care about. Iā€™m passionate about it and that shows in my work.

Now a little bit about my experience and credentials

I have a BA in Psychology from the University of Nevada Las Vegas and a Masters in social work from University of Southern California. My career has been largely focused in the medical field, where I have provided psychotherapy and support to patients and family members going through cancer, chronic illness and grief. That being said, anxiety and feeling stuck is a large focus of this work and I specialize in anxiety reduction and empowerment. I have worked as the lead therapist at Hoag Family Cancer Institute in Newport Beach, CA as their lead psychotherapist for the supportive cancer program since 2013 and have designed and led over twenty different support groups, education classes and mind/body workshops throughout the years.

Certifications

I am certified in Art for Healing and find that creativity through art and writing is helpful in healing. My approach to working on anxiety and stress often includes meditation, deep breathing and relaxation techniques, which I have taught for many years through workshops and individual sessions .

I am certified in the Grief Recovery Method and utilize this approach when assisting individuals who are grieving loss of a loved one, their health or even relationship, career and body changes that manifest as a loss.

When working with couples, I work from a focus in communication. So often we get lost in truly listening and hearing our partners. I am currently a certified provide of Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level I. This approach is highly focused in communication and strengthening relationships at its core.

I pride myself in whole person healing being a focus in my practice and became certified in Reiki II. Although I do not offer this during sessions, I am understanding and conscious of how energy can impact each one of us.

I have completed trainings in CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, Cancer and Fatigue and Trauma

I am so grateful to help you navigate this time in your life.
